Help Support Mike and Kris

On December 29, 2022, my father in law, Mike, came home to find my MIL collapsed at the bottom of their stairs. After being transported via ambulance to Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, it was discovered that as a result of a prior subdermal hematoma (brain bleed between the organ itself and the cranium), Kris suffered a fall down the stairs and incurred a second hematoma that produced such a large clot her brain was pushed down onto the bottom right side of her skull and her brain stem.

After two surgeries, Kris is currently in a stable condition but has yet to regain consciousness. Our most hopeful prognosis is that she comes out of this with trouble controlling her right side and some cognitive impairment. Any other alternative outcome is simply something we will face as we continue to take things day by day.

With exceptions of hunting trips, Mike has never spent a day without Kris. The two have been partners in crime for over four decades now. This has been an unimaginable situation for Mike, and the last thing we want is for him to be faced with any devastating financial burdens while he tries to carry the emotional and mental impact of this trauma.
