Help support Michele's Road to Recovery

Hello friends and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Michele Yates, and I am reaching out for your support during this very challenging time in my life. 4 years ago, during the pandemic I had a terrible life threatening stroke that paralyzed the left side of my body. Currently, I am living in a nursing home that has unfortunately proven to be a horrible environment where I experience daily emotional, medical, and physical neglect. They simply are not interested in my well-being or my recovery. Furthermore, they are refusing to provide the necessary and mandatory physical therapy I have been prescribed by my neurologist. I have been told many times by my neurologist that if "I can obtain constant physical therapy I will be able to heal and walk again." Nothing is more frustrating than living in a nursing home where I am being denied the care and support I need and deserve. Furthermore, my parents have both passed away in recent years and I do not have any family to help or support me.I'm only 53 years old and have so much more life to live I am determined and posses the faith and courage to change my circumstances and embark on a journey toward recovery and healing, but I truly need your help.

Due to my current situation, I am unable to access the proper physical therapy and medical care I need to recover and improve my quality of life. Moving into a safer, more supportive home environment is the first crucial step toward receiving the therapy and care I need.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support. Together, we can make a significant difference in my life and help me take the first steps on my road to recovery.

With gratitude, Michele Yates

A Feedom Fighter's cry

Each day I rise, though the weight feels immense, A warrior in this struggle, relentless and intense. The shadows may whisper, urging me to cease, But deep within, I summon strength and peace.

I march through the darkness, despite the despair, A stroke freedom fighter, with courage laid bare. In the silence of struggle, my heart beats strong, I defy the odds, where others might think I don’t belong.

Lonely this battle, yet I refuse to yield, For each step forward, another wound is healed. Hope flickers like a beacon, guiding my way, In this endless night, I find the will to stay.

Though some days I falter, and tears blur my sight, I remember the dawn, how it follows the night. So I fight on with fervor, refusing to die, A stroke freedom fighter, I reach for the sky.

For within me lies power, unbroken, untamed, In this fight for my freedom, my spirit's unclaimed. I rise, I endure, through the pain and the strife, With every heartbeat, I reclaim my life.
