Hi All,

Our dear friend and colleague Michele has had a recent diagnosis of breast cancer Her2 positive, which is aggressive and fast growing. On the 14th of November last she had her initial surgery. Unfortunately on the 13th of December she was readmitted with complications from the surgery and had to undergo further procedures.

Once Michele had recovered from this, she started her chemo treatment on the 14th of January. It has been a tough and exhausting battle, she finally finished her tenth session of chemo on the 1st of April.

She has had further blips on the road to recovery with another prolonged hospital stay.

Despite all this, Michele is currently doing really well and recovering at home with her loving family.

Michele is an amazing, dedicated nurse, full of enthusiasm and passion. Working in healthcare for the past 32 years, she has devoted her time to caring for others all her life. Michele has specialised in ICU for 22 years and worked in Australia and UK, before settling back in Ireland.

She is an incredible mother to 3 loving children, whom she adores.

Michele has always put the needs of others first. We wanted to finally give back and support her in anyway we can. Due to her cancer treatment and the cost of living, Michele is considering coming back to work early. We hope with this GoFundMe that Michele can forget about the financial burden for awhile, and enjoy some well deserved time with her friends and family and make a full recovery.
