My name is Kelly. Back in 2018, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung and brain cancer. We went to all the treatments, and she's been in remission for almost 4 years! This lady is tough!

Well, now she is tired, and we are nearing the end. She has an infection in her leg that requires an amputation, and she will not survive that. She is currently on a ventilator. This all came so fast, and we do not have funds in hand to cover her end-of-life expenses. Any help would be appreciated.

Updates: Well mom is still hanging in. She’s been all over the hospital. Back and forth from ICU to regular rooms. They want to send her home. She went into uncontrolled a/fib the other night. Heart rate was close to 300. So back to icu.

since she’s been there, she defeated sepsis and a kidney injury among other things. She takes insulin 4 times a day now. She has a tube in her gallbladder to drain it as she cannot get the risky surgery to remove it. Her heart is not beating regular to pump the blood where it should go in the body. Plus her arteries are closing up. She now has another infection, in the blood. They are removing her chemo port as she does not need it. She’s in respiratory failure so her oxygen levels are low. They are draining the large amount of fluid that is surrounding her lungs and that has caused them both to collapse at the bottom. The antibiotics are pushing her through but are just barely able to fight this new infection. Her brain has some swelling due to lack of oxygen/blood flow and she is a bit disoriented now. She’s very weak and tired. They are starting a picc line today so she can receive iv antibiotics at home. I have ordered her a hospital bed. And home health services will be coming.

im not sure how she will adjust to home when they won’t be around to come check when her heart rate changes. I don’t know how much time my mom will surprise us with this time, hoping she beats this new serious infection. She’s a hell of a fighter. I will update on when she will come home and all.
