My name is Misty, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my father, Michael, who has endured an enormous amount of medical hardship over the last six months. Asking for help doesn't come naturally to our family as we've always believed in hard work and taking care of our own. But this situation is bigger than what any one family can handle alone, and so here we are, humbly asking for your support.

My father is one of the strongest, most hardworking men I have ever known. He is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who has spent his entire life putting others before himself. Watching him face so many health battles at once has been heartbreaking yet through it all, he has never once lost his fighting spirit.

Over the past several months, my father has faced an overwhelming series of medical challenges. He underwent back surgery to remove arthritis from his spinal cord, bringing much-needed relief from years of severe, debilitating pain. Shortly after, he faced rectal surgery, followed by prostate and bladder complications, and multiple bladder infections all of which have required ongoing treatment and care and have added further complexity to his already demanding medical situation.

What began as a series of serious but separate health struggles has now culminated in a diagnosis of Stage 1 pancreatic cancer, for which my father is scheduled to undergo surgery this April. While the word "cancer" is frightening, we are holding onto hope as it was caught early, and his prognosis is very good.

The toll this has taken on our family, however, extends beyond the physical. Because of these compounding health issues, my father has been unable to work for the past several months and is not expected to return until approximately June. The loss of income, combined with an ever-growing mountain of medical bills from multiple hospitalizations, emergency room visits, surgeries, specialist consultations, and ongoing treatments, has placed an enormous and overwhelming financial burden on our family.

We know that everyone is navigating their own financial pressures, and we are truly grateful that you've taken the time to read my father’s story.
