Praise to be Jesus Christ! My name is Michael Quinn and I am from Silver Spring, MD. Recently, I have been accepted to the Institute of the Christ the King Sovereign Priest’s (ICKSP) Pre-Seminary Candidate Formation Program. I will be spending a year in Wausau, WI at St. Mary’s Oratory where I will be studying French, Latin, the Sacred Liturgy, and the Spirituality of the Institute. The Institute was founded in 1990 and is a Society of Apostolic Life dedicated to the Celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass. The Institute runs parishes, missions, schools, and shrines that assist those faithful who desire to worship in the Traditional Rite.
As many of you may know, I have long had the desire to be a priest. Ever since I was a young boy the desire for the Priesthood has been on my heart. This beautiful Vocation has grown over many years and is now beginning to blossom. Many of you may know me from the places I have served over the years since the age of 12 such as Saint Bernadette’s, Old St John’s and most recently serving as the Coordinator of the Latin Mass at Saint Anthony’s in Brookland. Having grown up with so many wonderful experiences in the Archdiocese of Washington I now take what I have been given by the Lord through my Family and Friends over the years and return thanks unto Him who has formed me by them.
With all of this said, you can probably imagine a program such as this requires additional support from the community- both spiritually and financially. I have been asked to find benefactors who are willing to support my vocation and the other charitable works of the Institute. For the first year I have been asked to raise $600 per month which comes out to about $7,000 for the whole year. Following this, if the Lord wills it, I will go to the Institute’s International Seminary in Gricigliano Italy. I humbly ask that you contribute what you are able.
Please know that I will keep all benefactors close in prayer and in writing letters to update you on how my formation. May our Lord Jesus Christ the King Bless you. And May His Blessed Mother, and all the Angels and Saints continue to intercede for You.
In Christ Our King,
Michael Quinn
