Help Support Meg's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Heidi, and I started this GoFundMe for my mother, Meg Meyer. She suffered a massive stroke on April 13th, 2023. If you know Meg, you know that health and fitness is the core of her being. She has dedicated her life to being healthy for herself and her kids and grandkids by never smoking and keeping active. Meg enjoyed running races of all lengths, from 5Ks to full marathons, and teaching fitness classes at the gym. When she wasn't exercising, she could be found puttering around the house, kayaking, or hiking. She loves to move!
The stroke left half of Meg's body paralyzed, ripping her active lifestyle from her and leaving her devastated but determined to move once again. She spent four days recovering in the hospital and another three and a half weeks at a rehab facility working relentlessly to regain her strength. She returns home on May 12th and will continue to work on her recovery there. As of right now, Meg is able to walk with a cane and is still working on strengthening her arm enough to use it.
With her limited mobility, Meg is no longer able to work her job as a nurse. Her medical bills continue to stack up with physical and ocupational therapy appoinemts that will follow her arrival home. To make the situation more difficult, Meg is the mother of a teenager with Down's Syndrome who lives at home and is supported by her. In the past, his medical bills never posed any problems, but with Meg's recent loss of income and sudden increase of her own healthcare costs, she is struggling. I humbly ask for any support you would be able to offer her. Your generosity is appreciated beyond words and will go towards chipping away at Meg's mountain of medical bills caused by this stroke. Thank you for your love and kindness.
