Help Megan Keep Her Smile Bright During Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hey there, my name is Megan McCullagh. I’m not the type to ever ask for help, but I’ve found myself in a predicament.
As many people know, I’ve been struggling with my health nonstop for about 10 years now. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Back in February 2025, after ending up in the emergency room for one problem pertaining to an ongoing medical issue, I was informed that I had a larger than normal cyst on my ovary. To save my fertility, and to avoid complications, doctors told me it needed to be surgically removed as soon as possible. Due to my job and finances, I was not able to schedule surgery until summer break when I had time off, so I was told to take it easy and rush to the ER if pain became excruciating.
My finances have been a hard topic for over a year, especially after moving back to Florida, but I’ve been making things work and still trying to enjoy life. Sadly, now things have hit rock bottom with the surgery and not being able to work the summer, like I had planned. I stop working for the summer on May 28th and go in for surgery on June 9th. The doctors told me I cannot drive or do much of anything for at least two weeks post surgery. If history has taught me anything, it has showed me that my body does not do well after surgery, and I could still be struggling a month or so afterwards, which limits my opportunity to find a job to pay my bills. My full time school job goes back to work the last week of July, but I probably will not see a paycheck until the end of August.
Without being able to work, having no supplemental income, and having to pay my rent and bills, I’ve hit a road block and that’s where this GoFundMe comes into play. This is not something I thought I would ever have to do, but to be able to afford to live while recovering, it’s possibly my only option. So if you’re reading this and you’re able to donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated. All donations are going towards rent and utilities for at least two months, biweekly credit card payment, medical expenses, car insurance, health insurance, food, gas to get me to the doctors, and help with payment plans I was locked into prior to surgery.
$4000 is the goal and is what pays for the monthly expenses. If the goal is reached and more is donated, it will be put towards the hospital bills that I know I’ll get in a few weeks.
If you do not want to donate on the platform, but would like to donate another way, or pay a bill directly, contact me.
I appreciate all the love and support I am receiving. Thank you, all my love is being sent out! -Megan ❤️
