RBUSD family and friends, one of our Washington families is in need of our support, prayers, and positive vibes. 

On Friday (11/15/2019), Chris Velez was driving home on his motorcycle to meet his wife and two children. Unfortunately, he never made it home. He was riding down the street and a car suddenly pulled out of the driveway without looking and Chris ended up running into that car, hitting the side of the car with his chest and breaking his sternum on impact. He also suffered internal lesions to his liver and his spleen. His left ankle was broken and displaced. His right ACL and knee were also ruptured.

His wife, Paola, and two children just moved to Redondo Beach, CA from Florida. He is the sole provider of income and they have no family in California.

At this point,  Chris is stable and his internal lesions have been repaired.  His ankle has been surgically repaired, but he still needs to undergo more surgeries in order to correct his knee and ACL.  Although Paola and the kids are so happy that he will be home soon enough, they are still in need of support during this difficult time. Paola is part of the Washington Elementary family and always shows kindness to everyone she meets.  

For this purpose I have set up this account to help offset extensive medical costs, missed wages and any help that the family needs.
