Matthew update: Overnight the nurse saw Matt having two seizures, so ordered another EEG. The day nurse also saw him having two seizures and one was actually caught while he was hooked up to the scan. He is now on anti-seizure medication to try to stop them.

Update on Matthew from Julia : so last night and this morning I was preparing myself to have to make life and death choices!

Today I got in and the Dr. Told me that his brain scans show he has suffered a number of strokes! They do not know what the future will look like for Matt. His right side is not working well! He can move his right leg a little but can’t move his right arm, he is moving the left side!

He is still on a ventilator but he was so responsive to me today! Answering yes and no questions, following directions pretty well! He FaceTimed Ty and his eyes got sooo wide when I asked him if he wanted to FaceTime his boy!

The day turned from unbelievably sad and scary to a new found hope!

Hi we are Jason and Danielle we started this go fund me to help Matthew Barnes and his family in a time of need. They are truly an amazing family with two young boys they live a happy life and would do anything for anyone. We met Matthew and Julia when they stopped to ask our Son to work for them and it became friendship. Jacob truly thinks the world of Matthew and is grateful for the knowledge he gave Jacob about things around the farm. When Jacob was ill Matthew always messaged to see how he was and how his surgery’s went which means a lot to us. On August 6 we found out Matthew went to hospital. He is still in ICU in Kingston, Julia is off work to be by his side and drive from Madoc to Kingston daily. She is also trying to support their two young boys. Matthew developed bacteria in his heart valve which he had replaced 3 years ago. He also suffered a brain bleed. Doctors performed surgery on his heart to remove infectious tissue. They had to replace his valve again. While there was a lot of damage, things took a turn for the worst. Matthew came out of surgery August 22 and has not woken up since the surgery. There have been so many complications with his organs, among other things. Jules and the boys have been by his side.

Jason and I would just like to help by trying to raise money to help them at such a hard time. I know they would do the same for anyone.
