Help Support Matt Sitler’s Recovery

On July 28th, 2025, Matt was a victim in a random, tragic shooting at the GSR Casino in Reno that left him critically wounded and took the lives of two of his closest friends.

Matt is currently in the hospital recovering from 2 gunshot wounds, spleen removal surgery, broken ribs and a collapsed lung but, he survived and is now faced with an incredibly difficult road.

In addition to the emotional trauma, while Matt is physically recovering from injuries, he doesn’t want to burden his family with living expenses, transportation until he’s able to drive, and all the unforeseen expenses during his recovery. We are raising funds to allow Matt the time and space he needs to heal and grieve without the financial stress.

Until now, nothing had been set up for Matt because he wanted donations to be focused on his best friends, Andrew and Justin and ensuring their families had all the resources to bring them home and prepare for their services.

Matt is a gentle giant that loves his family, his friends and his beloved dog, Bear. He is the biggest Philadelphia Eagles fan since he was a little boy and loves his Lakers and Dodgers. Matt’s friends describe him as a loyal friend, honest to a fault, authentic and genuine. He’s sassy and funny with a sarcastic sense of humor. Matt loves his tribe of friends and would do anything for them. His laugh is contagious, and he strives to live life to the fullest.
