Help Get Mary and Isaac Nazworth to Disney World
Donation protected
Take a moment to imagine what it would feel like to begin the year with breast cancer, undergoing painful surgery and radiation therapy to save your life. Before long, it’s not only you battling cancer; your 6-year-old dog is diagnosed with terminal lymphoma. You must make the heart-wrenching decision to let her go as you continue your own fight, knowing now it will be without her loyal companionship. And then, the unthinkable happens: you lose your oldest son to his own battle with mental illness.
Mary Nazworth does not have the luxury of imagining this scenario. For her, these events have punctuated the first months of 2024.
To so many of us in our community, Mary represents kindness and compassion. Her big heart is part of why so many love and admire her. Although there is nothing we can do to relieve her of the pain, grief, and heartbreak she is experiencing after the loss of her 15-year-old son Ian, so many people have reached out to see how we might be able to support Mary, her 12-year-old son Isaac, and their family.
Mary and Isaac are in desperate need of healing, and Mary would love to take Isaac to Disney World to build a happy memory into their most difficult year. Isaac has dreamed of visiting Galaxy’s Edge in particular. Right now, this is our ask of our community: let’s send Mary and Isaac to Disney.
Your donation would be a tangible and specific way to bring a measure of joy into the lives of two people who have suffered so much unspeakable loss and deserve a moment of reprieve. For Mary, this break would be a welcome way for her to bring joy into her surviving son’s life. For Isaac, this experience would be a chance to embrace being a kid before he navigates the world without his older brother.
Disney, as magical as it is, is pricey. We'd love to raise an additional $8k above the already-raised $2600+ for Mary's medical expenses. We humbly ask that you find it in your hearts to donate. Any amount is greatly appreciated. In fact, we meet our goal if 400 people donate just $20. Or, if 80 people donate $100.
Please keep Mary, Ian, Isaac, and the entire Nazworth family in your thoughts and prayers. And please, please share this fundraiser with anyone you know who may be inspired to contribute.
