We are reaching out today with a story of resilience, hope—and now, urgent need.
Earlier last year, in February 2024, our dear friend Mary McOnie received a devastating diagnosis: stage 4 colon cancer. By the end of the year, her condition had worsened, and she was hospitalized for nearly a month. Doctors eventually determined there were no more treatment options left and made the heartbreaking decision to transfer her to hospice care.
But then, something incredible happened.
Just days after entering hospice, Mary began to improve—dramatically. Against all odds, she stabilized, gained strength, and was eventually moved into a rehabilitation center. Today, we are overjoyed to share that Mary is CANCER-FREE! Her recovery is nothing short of a medical miracle.
However, the fight isn’t over.
Mary is now facing a different kind of battle—one that’s just as overwhelming. She is slowly losing her vision due to advanced cataracts and urgently needs surgery on both eyes to restore her vision. Unfortunately, her health insurance will not cover the much-needed surgery, and the cost of surgery must be paid entirely out of pocket.
Mary is drowning in medical debt from her long and difficult fight against cancer.
This is where we need your help.
If you’ve ever been moved by someone who refused to give up, even when life gave her every reason to, please consider donating. Every single dollar will go toward:
• Cataract surgery to help Mary see again
• Mounting medical bills from her cancer treatment
• Helping her get back on her feet after months of hospitalization and recovery
Mary has already defied the odds once. Now, with your support, we hope to give her the second miracle she needs—one that lets her truly see the life she fought so hard to keep.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and giving from your heart.
