Help Support Martha’s Recovery After Stroke

On August 1st, Martha Peralta suffered a stroke while at work, Thankfully, her prognosis is good—but she has a long road of recovery ahead with daily physical therapy, ongoing medical expenses, and the challenges of adjusting to life after a major health crisis.

Martha was able to return home on September 1st, where she continues her rehabilitation. Her husband, Julio, has been by her side as her primary caregiver and the family’s main source of support. With Martha unable to work and Julio dedicating his time and energy to her care, this has placed a heavy financial burden on their family.

These funds will go directly toward:

* Rent and household expenses
* Medical bills and ongoing care needs
* Transportation to and from therapy appointments
* Giving Julio and Martha some stability during this difficult time

Julio shares:

“Everything started on August 1st. Martha dropped me off at work around 8am, then headed to her job. At around 10:30, she called me multiple times, which she never does unless it’s urgent. When I answered, she told me she couldn’t feel her right side. I immediately told her to call 911—she was having a stroke.

Her blood pressure was dangerously high at 232/122, and the doctors confirmed she had a stroke. The first days were critical as we prayed her condition wouldn’t require surgery. Those early moments were terrifying, but even then, I tried to keep her calm—cracking a joke through tears: *‘Look what people do to avoid work!’* She laughed, and that laughter helped us both.

Martha is strong and determined. My job has been to keep her spirits up, make sure she rests, and remind her that she has endless love and support around her.”

Martha has always been a HAPPY, caring, loving, hardworking, and resilient woman, and now she needs her community more than ever. By contributing, you’ll help relieve some of the financial stress so she and Julio can focus fully on her recovery and healing.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Please consider giving and sharing this campaign to spread the word.

Thank you for helping support Martha and Julio during this journey.
