Hello, my beautiful friends.

This isn't the kind of announcement I ever thought I'd be writing, but here we are.

My name is Marley Minx, and many of you know me as The Noir Queen of Tease—a proud, sparkly member of the burlesque community since 2018, first in Columbus, Ohio, and now in Raleigh, North Carolina. Performing has been my passion and my refuge. The stage is where I’ve found healing, confidence, and the most incredible chosen family I could ever ask for.

Now, I need that family—and this amazing community—more than ever.

This year, at age 41, I went in for my very first mammogram. What started as a routine screening turned into a life-changing diagnosis: breast cancer. On March 11th, I will undergo a double mastectomy to give myself the best chance of beating this.

To be honest, the past few years have already been some of the hardest of my life. I lost my mother. I’ve faced unexpected, difficult changes in my personal life. And now... this.

While I'm grateful to have a dear friend traveling from Ohio to stay with me for a few weeks during recovery, the reality is that I'll be out of work for at least six weeks, possibly longer. And on top of the fear and stress of surgery and recovery, I’m now facing the overwhelming anxiety of lost income—rent, bills, groceries, and all the costs of simply existing while healing.

This is where I'm asking, with all the vulnerability in my heart, for help.
