Hi everyone!

My name is Marisa. On January 12th, I received the difficult diagnosis of breast cancer. I never would have imagined I would be diagnosed with cancer at the age of 26.

Since January I have had multiple biopsies, scans, blood draws, and endless doctor's appointments. On February 7th I had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor, had 4 lymph nodes removed, and also had a port placed for chemotherapy. My chemotherapy will start sometime in early March. In the meantime, I am undergoing fertility treatment to freeze my eggs in case the chemotherapy affects my fertility in the future.

I have been juggling all of this while pushing through my third semester of nursing school. As I navigate through treatments, appointments, and being a full-time student, I've realized that the financial aspect of battling cancer adds an extra layer of stress. Medical bills, transportation costs, and other expenses have quickly piled up.

As hard as it is for me to reach out for help, this fight isn't something I can do alone. Whether it's a small donation or sharing this GoFundMe, every little bit helps. I'm hoping through your support I'll be able to focus on my treatment and recovery and ease the burden while focusing on my future nursing career.
