Help Support Maribeth & Justin’s Surrogacy Journey
Donation protected
As many of you know my husband Justin and I battled my metastatic appendix cancer together throughout 2023-2024. Although this cancer is currently undetectable, we learned that life is truly a roller coaster and sometimes has a very unexpected journey. After getting married we planned on having a family, but we’ve encountered many hardships together early in our marriage. Over the last few months, we learned that Maribeth is unable to safely experience the miracle of pregnancy. There are too many potential complications for both the mother and child due to surgical limitations, chemotherapy, and the likelihood of cancer reoccurrence. We have felt blessed to learn that surrogacy can provide us with the hope of having a biological child of our own.
We understand there are many other avenues that can be explored to experience the joys of family life; adoption, fostering, or additional pets. As most of you know, the cancer was discovered by a true miracle, during our initial infertility journey. If it wasn’t for the burning desire for a biological child, this cancer would have never been discovered and Maribeth would not likely be here. We feel we owe our unborn child a chance at life because they have already been such a blessing to us and provided hope. Maribeth’s cancer is extremely rare (250 cases in in the United States annually), not well understood and has a very high rate of reoccurrence. If she were to go to heaven earlier than expected, we all want a piece of her left behind for the world to love.
Truthfully we’ve learned that it takes so much prayer, support, and generosity to get through life’s difficulties, especially cancer. Surrogacy will be another tough emotional journey for us. Sometimes when making something so precious, it takes an extra helping heart. If you are able to donate anything and share this post to make this possible for us we will be forever grateful. Many blessings to you and your family this holiday season.
Love,
Justin and Maribeth
