Help support Marians Orbital Decompression

Hi, I’m starting this Go fund me to help pay for insurance premiums and additional travel costs for my mom, Marian Dorn, to receive a risky surgery to remove excess bone growth within her skull at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

My mom was diagnosed with a Padgets disease at a young age, and now nearly 40 years after her original diagnosis, her doctors have found that the original diagnosis was incorrect. They have now diagnosed her with Fibro-displaysia of the skull and that is now causing her skull to rapidly grow. In the last few months, her doctors have concluded that the bone growth in her skull could affect her brain, and eye function and she needs to have surgery to remove the excess bone as soon as possible.

Since the surgery required is extremely technical and quite dangerous, she needs to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota to have a specialist complete the procedure.

Although I can help her with much of the financial aspects, there is still a significant financial burden that we face as a family. I have calculated that the realistic costs above what I can help support amounts to approximately $10,000. The money raised with this Go fund me would help to cover her insurance premiums, a short term rental home in Minnesota, travel expenses, care for her pets while she is receiving treatment, rental car, and additional funds for food. All money raised will go to her care and support during her recovery from this procedure.

Those of you that know me, know that I am never one to ask for much, and to be honest, I would never ask my friends and family if this was for me. I love my mom dearly, and anything you can donate will help to alleviate some of the financial burden and additional stress she is facing with this procedure.
