**Help Support Maria Carmen in Her Battle Against Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (as a Non-Smoker)**
Dear friends and family,
I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share that my mother, Maria Carmen, has been diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung cancer. This diagnosis has come as a shock to our family, especially since my mom has always lived a healthy and active lifestyle. She has never smoked and has always prioritized her well-being, focusing on eating well, exercising, and taking care of herself. Unfortunately, this illness has a stigma of smoking behind the diagnosis, but studies are showing an increase in younger women who never smoked are getting diagnosed with lung cancer in the nation. It has been an incredibly tough time for our family, as we come to terms with her diagnosis and face the challenges that lie ahead.
Maria Carmen has always been strong, loving, selfless, caring devoted mother, grandmother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, and a true inspiration to all who know her. She’s the type of person who always puts others before herself and loves spending time with family. Now, she’s fighting her hardest against this terrible illness, but we need your help.
The medical bills, treatment costs, and multiple hospitalizations (from pneumonia, pulmonary embolisms, blood transfusions) and other expenses are quickly adding up, and we are doing everything we can to support her. We are asking for your support to help us provide the best care possible during this difficult time. Your generous donation will go toward helping with cost of treatments, hospital visits, medications, and home care . Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a world of difference to us during this challenging time.
We are so grateful for your love, support, and prayers. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others who may be able to help.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and helping us provide Maria Carmen with the care she needs.
With love and gratitude,
The Horta/Villegas Family
