For you that don’t know I would like to introduce you to one of my dear friends Malissa Castaneda who on July 8th, 2022 was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. She has completed 3 rounds of chemo and after weeks of her hair falling out in clumps and make the decision to shave her head and looks more beautiful than ever. She is one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met and you never see her without a smile on her face. Malissa is a mother to 3 beautiful girls Bailey, Emily and Trinity and recently celebrated their first year of marriage with husband Jason.

Jason and Malissa have been a huge part of our lives and I feel so lucky to have people like them to call family. It’s heartbreaking for anyone to have to go through something that puts you through though so many ups and down. Physically, mentally and financially.

Malissa accepted a new job prior to getting diagnosed. So she has not only had to meet her first deductible with the old job, she also had to meet a second deductible at her new employer. Since treatment will continue into 2023 they will again have to meet another deducible. Which means a lot money out out pocket, and another added stress while battling cancer.
