My name is Sara, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for MaLinda, a beloved member of our community and a friend who has touched countless lives. If you know MaLinda, you know her bright smile, her warm heart, and her gift for making everyone feel welcome. She’s been a social butterfly in our town since childhood—well known, well loved, and always there when anyone needs an ear to listen.

MaLinda was born with a congenital heart defect and has bravely fought health challenges her entire life. She received a pacemaker in her 20's and now, she has suffered a stroke that has placed her in an even more critical condition. Doctors have made it clear that she now needs a heart transplant to survive.

Through every hardship, MaLinda has always had the steady love and support of her family, who have stood by her through some of the toughest moments of her life. But the journey ahead is overwhelming—emotionally, medically, and financially.

To receive the care she needs, MaLinda will have to relocate to Edmonton for up to a year for treatment, rehabilitation, and monitoring. Funds raised will help with:

Travel to and from Edmonton

Long-term accommodation while she awaits and recovers from transplant

Medications before and after surgery

Medical supplies and appointments

Daily living costs during her stay

Support for the family members who continue to stand by her side
