Our precious little Granddaughter, Lyra Young, is fighting multiple battles right now that no child should have to fight. Lyra is almost 2 1/2 years old and since birth, has struggled with developmental delays. She is still unable to sit unsupported, crawl, walk or talk; she has trouble eating without choking and has several GI issues.

Through continued testing over the last couple years, the only diagnosis found has been Global Developmental Delay and Epilepsy. The doctors have not found a medication that stops her seizures and they are getting worse to the point where she has now been hospitalized for more testing. She always seems to wince and be in pain, and each test returns inconclusive.

Our Son Tyler is the sole provider for their family and will continue to have to take time off to be with Lyra while in the hospital and for her many doctor's appointments. Our Daughter-in-law Ivory has to care for Lyra 24/7 and can not work at this time, which creates a huge hardship. They are still waiting for disbility benefits which is a timely process with no end in site.

Through all the battles, tests, pain and tears, our little Lyra always shines through with a smile that brightens every room she's in. There are many more tests ahead, and they're in the hospital for an undetermined timeframe.

We have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden on her parents, Tyler and Ivory. As you can imagine, the normal costs of everyday living, such as rent, food, gas, cars, etc., are already starting to overwhelm them. This will enable Lyra's parents to concentrate on her getting well and advocating for Lyra to get a diagnosis.
