Hello everyone,

I’m incredibly excited to share that next year Lydia has been given an amazing opportunity to take part in a 4-week expedition to Borneo with Camps International — an award-winning organisation known for their ethical, sustainable, and fully supported school expeditions across the world.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends adventure, volunteering, personal challenge, and cultural immersion. We are fundraising to make this dream possible, and I’d be so grateful for any support you can offer.

What She Will Be Doing in Borneo

During the expedition, she will be trekking through the heart of the Bornean jungle, living within a rural community, and taking part in hands-on conservation and community-support projects. Some of the key work includes:

Protecting Orangutan Habitats

Working alongside local teams on essential environmental projects aimed at preserving the rainforest and protecting wildlife.

Community Development Projects

Helping improve living conditions for local families through sustainable construction, education support, and long-term community initiatives.

Jungle Trekking & Cultural Immersion

Experiencing a completely different way of life, exploring untouched tropical wilderness, learning new skills, and embracing the challenges of living far outside my comfort zone.

What We are Fundraising For

The total costs, including all expendses, of the 4-week expedition is £6000.00, which covers:

All on-the-ground support and leadership

Accommodation and food throughout

Jungle training and safety procedures

Community and conservation project costs

Internal travel and logistics

She will be contributing as much as she can herself through part-time work and school fundraising activities and even a climb of Snowdonia — but she needs your help to reach the full amount.
