Lucky contracted viral meningitis, and unfortunately, it was caught too late. Lucky nearly died and is now in the process of recovery. The virus has swollen parts of Lucky's brain that control the nervous system, which has affected the ability to walk and control herself. Right now, Lucky needs constant intravenous medicine and monitoring, and every day is a challenge as they work toward regaining their health.

Because of this illness, Lucky is unable to work during recovery. This means she will miss three paychecks, and as a result, are facing missed mortgage payments that will accrue while in the hospital. The stress of worrying about her home on top of her health is overwhelming, and Lucky is doing her best to focus on healing.
