On Friday 5 March, a tragic event occurred that will forever change the future of the Rea family. My dearest brother Fausto Bolivar suffered a massive brain haemorrhage while at work. He was taken immediately to Princess Alexandra hospital in Brisbane (Australia). Unfortunately, Fausto Bolivar has been in a coma since.

His wife (my sister-in-law) Evelyn, and his two children (Sebastian and Daniela) are all shocked and traumatised by this event and are trying to cope the best they can.

Unfortunately, being self-employed also means Fausto Bolivar’s regular income has suddenly stopped. To make matters worse, access to his business banking account has not been possible due to the lack of an enduring power of attorney, putting further strain on a delicate situation.

Fausto Bolivar has given so much to all the people who he has touched. As several of his friends and clients have mentioned upon hearing the news “He is one in a million”.

Now is the right time to come together, as individuals and as a community, to do what we can to support the Rea family during this very traumatic time.

As kind and generous as Fausto Bolivar has always been, we now ask you to reach deep to alleviate this burden as we know that the coming weeks, months and possibly years will be very hard for the family as they navigate through anguish, sadness, recovery, and an uncertain future.

The funds raised will be withdrawn by myself under my name in order to manage his affairs until Evelyn is in a better state. There are many bills to be paid past and present which will be done directly from my account via electronic transfers.
