Support Lola’s Second Chance at Life

Hi, my name is Meghan and I’m reaching out during one of the most emotional and challenging times of our lives.

My husband and I have a sweet 11-year-old pug named Lola, who is truly like a daughter to us. She’s been by my side through everything—attached to my hip everywhere I go, and her little personality lights up every room. Lola isn’t just a dog. She’s family, she’s my emotional support, and she’s truly anyone’s best friend the second they meet her.

This week, right in the middle of a life milestone—my graduation with a Master’s in Social Work from Tarleton State University—Lola was rushed into emergency gallbladder surgery. It was an incredibly difficult decision, given the other ultimatum, but despite her age, we knew she had so much more life to live. Lola has always been a fighter, full of energy, love, and little tail wags.

One of the first signs that something was wrong was when she stopped eating—something she never does. If you know Lola, you know her two favorite things in life are:

1. Being with me

2. Eating

To see her lose both her appetite and her spark was heartbreaking. We prayed constantly, and placed our trust in God and the skilled veterinarians who fought to save her life. Thankfully, the surgery went well—but the financial burden has been overwhelming.

Between medical tests, emergency care, the surgery itself, and her ongoing recovery, the expenses have quickly grown beyond what we can manage alone. We’re asking for any support you can give, whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer.

Every little bit helps as we focus on getting Lola healthy and back to her happy, food-loving, tail-wagging self.
