This is Loki.

She is my 9-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix, my service dog, and truly my best friend in the whole world.

I’ve had Loki since she was 8 weeks old in 2016. Through some of the darkest moments of my life, especially the events last April, Loki never left my side like a constant light during a very dark time. The best kind of therapy has four legs and a wet nose.

Anyone who meets her falls in love with her. She is calm, patient, incredibly intelligent, and naturally nurturing. After having her litter of puppies, she became “mom” to every child and animal she met. She comforts people without even trying.

She’s also silly in the most human ways — she’ll intentionally knock over a cup of wine or beer just to sneak sips off the floor, She’ll give ya high-five, and never leave a snack unattended.

Recently, Loki was diagnosed with a carcinoma mass that needs specialty surgical treatment. We are currently consulting with an oncology surgeon, and the estimated costs are overwhelming for me financially. The procedure is to remove the mass and hopefully during surgery they’re able to do it without amputation. Being her front leg, there is medical equipment available like a prosthetic leg to assist her.

This moment, she’s still ‘healthy’, playful and running/jumping. I can’t imagine her any other way.

I have already started selling many of my belongings trying to cover her medical expenses because I truly cannot imagine giving up on her after everything she has carried me through. I have care credit and other medical loans- but they’ve been used for me as I’m still undergoing testing for my Lupus Diagnosis last year.

If you are able to donate, share, or even just send prayers and positive thoughts for Loki, it would mean more than I can express.

The estimate stands at $3500-4000 for just the surgery if they’re able to just remove the mass. It’s $7500-8000 if it requires amputation.

Every dollar will go directly toward:
- oncology consultations
- imaging/testing
- surgery
- recovery care
- medications and follow-up treatment

Thank you for loving my girl with me.
