Help support local families affected by cancer

My name is Hayley, I will be shaving my head and raising money to support those affected by cancer.
Rather than donating to larger organisations who fund conventional cancer treatment/research I believe its equally, if not more important that those affected have proper support in their everyday lives and are helped to see the love and light that still surrounds them... Thats why I've chosen the non for profit organisation Team Kill Cancer!
Its a locally run group that provide affected members of our community with gifts to help bring back the joy and positivity in the darkest of times, ranging from a bunch of flowers to overseas holiday. As the financial burden of cancer is almost as powerful as the illness itself, Team Kill Cancer can assist with everday expenses by providing things like fuelcards or grocery vouchers to lighten the stress.
I will also be donating my hair to a wig foundation that supplies cancer patients with wigs as they undergo chemotherapy treatment.
It shocked me to find out that 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, this is a pretty confronting statistic. When I look around my community I see the devastating effects this illness can have, loved ones lost and family is dispear and the strongest of people fighting for their lives. This can happen to absolutely anyone in the blink of an eye.
If you're able to put yourself in the shoes of someone who is affected by cancer and understand the importance of support then please donate!
