Hi everyone,

My name is Nikki, and I’m setting this up on behalf of my sister, Lexi, her partner Dylan, and their beautiful family.

Our world has been turned upside down with the heartbreaking news that my nephew, Elijah (EJ), has been diagnosed with a rare, large, and complex spinal tumour that is wrapped around his spinal cord. This is something no family could ever be prepared for.

EJ is already preparing for his first major surgery, and with chemotherapy likely being his only treatment option, he is facing a long and difficult road ahead. He will need to stay for an extended period at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, far from home, while he undergoes treatment and recovery.

As if this wasn’t enough, Lexi and Dylan have just welcomed their third baby only four weeks ago. Dylan has used all of his time off for the birth, so with no leave available and a family to support, he is faced with the impossible — needing to keep working to pay bills and stay afloat, while also wanting to be by EJ’s side.

The hospital is over 3 hours away from their home, which means they’ll need help covering travel, accommodation, meals, and medical-related expenses during this incredibly tough time.

Our goal with this fundraiser is to help ease some of the financial burden, so Lexi and Dylan can focus on what truly matters — being there for EJ and their children without the constant worry of how they’ll make ends meet.
