Help Support Lisa in Her Battle With Metastatic OM

Donation protected
It is with hope, faith and love that we are reaching out for help.

In October of 2012, Lisa was diagnosed with Ocular Chorodial (Uveal) Melanoma (OM), and after localized radiation and laser treatment, she was deemed cured and cancer free.

Fast-forward to October 2019 following 6 years of clean scans, a lesion was seen on her liver during what was to be year seven’s routine scans. After weeks of further testing and procedures, Lisa was diagnosed with metastatic ocular melanoma (very different from skin melanoma) with metastases to the liver and spine, an incurable cancer.  With little research and no set standard course of treatment for metastatic OM, Lisa is consulting with the few specialists in the field of metastatic OM to find the best treatment available to her in order to manage and stabilize her disease. On Wednesday before Thanksgiving she found out she was unfortunately not a candidate for a promising clinical trial due to a missing genetic marker.  This now puts her in the position of seeking a team of doctors that could be in several places around the country with great need to begin treatment as soon as possible.

Lisa is a strong, independent, caring, loving, and courageous individual that plays such an important role in so many lives. She is a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, friend, an athlete and loving mom to her fur babies.  She is, and always has been, a huge support system and source of encouragement for everyone she cares for, and now we are asking for support, love, and encouragement for her.

Prior to this life changing diagnosis of advanced metastatic cancer, Lisa was laid off following a buyout of the company she worked for and position consolidation. Due to unemployment coupled with the medical bills that have already begun to accumulate, as well as an increased likelihood she will need to travel for treatment, she faces a great financial burden.

We are expecting costs associated with receiving future treatments ranging from directed liver therapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy, as well as insurance, co-pays, and other medical bills. In addition, she will need to continue to pay all of her normal expenses including her mortgage and household bills. It is unlikely that she will be able to work full time while fighting to kick cancer’s ass as she will be undergoing treatment regularly.

Please continue to keep Lisa and her family lifted up through your prayers and well wishes.  You have no idea how powerful you all are❣️

Donating any amount you can would mean so much, helping to alleviate some of the financial worries and allow Lisa to focus on fighting this cancer. Likewise, sharing this link any way you can will be greatly appreciated and a loving gesture of support.

Thank you from deep in our hearts for your kindness and generosity❤️
