Help support Lily, Fae and Jay to secure their future after the tragic loss of Sjon

If you’re reading this, you will most likely already know about the extremely sad and sudden passing of Sjon.

Sjon sadly leaves behind Lily, Fae and Jay in a time where they, like the rest of the world, were beginning to get back on track after covid. Just like for many of us, covid created an enormous challenge for Sjon and Lily, with their business effectively put on hold meaning zero income for the past two and half years.

Despite that, this summer was going to be the start of great things again. Thailand is opening up and tourists are slowly coming back. Fizz was gradually being prepared to partially open. Everything was looking amazingly positive for this beautiful family. Then the worst happened; Lily lost her husband and Fae & Jay lost their amazing papa…

It’s difficult to put into words how shocked we all were. A truly lovely human gone too soon.

Sjon was a guy that could (and would) talk to anyone - and would probably tell the same story over and over again!

Everyone that knew Sjon, even if just a little bit, was touched by his warmth, generosity and his inherent ability to make people feel welcome and loved with his infectious smile - especially at Fizz.

And now to why I am writing this.

Since Sjon’s passing I have heard many people say that Koh Tao will never be the same again - and that is probably true. However, we can all play a small part to ensure Fizz continues to bring all of us, as well as the many new faces that become our friends, the happiness it always has done when we’re on Koh Tao.

Sjon and Lily had already accepted the incredible generosity of some close friends and family to help get the business going again. Lily has been humbled by the outpouring of love and support since Sjon passed. The kindness shown by everyone over the last couple of weeks has been incredible, and the generosity of some people has been mind blowing. But times are tough now, therefore we are kindly asking for donations to help cover any remaining costs that the family encounter and if there happens to be anything left over, then it will be put towards helping to relaunch Fizz in December for the future of Fae, Jay and Lily and to continue Sjon’s dream.
