Ruby Bartlett experienced an infarction of the heart, known as a heart attack. Ruby was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is currently admitted to the Epileptic Montering Unit. On top of this all Ruby suffers from tonic clonic ( gran mal seizures) from a resection of a brain tumor in her left frontal lobe. Her seizures are coming more often and having focal episodes on top of the tonic clonics. Her health condition is taking a toll on her mentally and mostly financially. Her brain tumor fluid is being monitored closely by wonderful doctors. She also has an abundance of white blood cells that are destroying her good healthy tissue. As soon as she has some financial stability, Ruby will start chemo for the RA. She also found out that there is a lesion on her liver. More testing to come. With flares, she is stuggling to walk, sit, lay and enjoy the simple things in life. Ruby is a single mother with a beautiful, kind, busy, wonderful, 12 year old daughter, Scarlett. It is currently unknown what her recovery will look like, how long her stay in the hospital will be, how long her rehab will be , getting mobility back, and memory back. We do know that she has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We are setting up this Go Fund Me to help support Ruby and her Daughter with medical related expenses, and to help them stay above water during Ruby's hospital stay, medications, and health rehab. Until seizures are under control. Ruby will not be able to work, and drive. She has been out of work since February 5th. Uber will have to be a big part of her life. Especially getting her to therapy, further testing, and all Doctor appts. She is a rock for Scarlett. Scarlett is involved with the Bloomingdale Bears as a running back. She is on her middle school's basketball, and volleyball teams. She also participates in Bloomingdale Blast travel softball team all year long as a catcher, and Bloomingdale park district basketball team as a point guard. Ruby makes huge efforts to make sure her daughter gets to all her practices on time without missing any, sometimes 2/3 daily. She is dedicated and has never missed a game. She was beside herself when she had to miss Scarlett's first 6th grade volleyball games due to her admission. Ruby is a mother first and wants more than anything to make sure Scarlett doesn't lose those things due to her health issues. Ruby finds nothing more important than family. Her neices and nephews are her soul. Ruby's dedicated to the medical field and taking care of her patient's and stranger's by making sure they have the medication they need, have their appts in place to see the specialist they may need to see. She knows her patients by their first names and remembers their children's names. Her dedication is sureal. That she forgot to take care of herself at times. She has always held down two jobs. But she'll have to say goodbye to one at least for now, and hopes to return to her other job asap. When finding out this devastating news Ruby's only concern was making sure she gets out of hospital to not to miss any of her daughters games. The most important passion, and fuel to her is her little girl. She is struggling and drowing with medical expenses, groceries, bills, payments of all sorts, most of all her mortgage, and co-pays to see all specialist, to get further testing. We want to help them get through this. She's always given to strangers and taken care of anyone in need. Since childhood Ruby has always left a great impression by being so generous, and her sense of humor makes everyone's heart smile. I've known Ruby for many years and she has always been here for me and my family. Help me be here for her now. Please consider donating any amount you can to a great woman so she can continue to enjoy her beautiful daughter and watch her grow and enjoy life.
