Hi, my name is Naomi and I’m fundraising for my partner Liam, who is a self-employed tattooist and is facing one of the biggest challenges of his life.
Liam was diagnosed with bladder cancer on the 7th August 2025 at 37 years old. At this point they couldn’t tell what stage or type the cancer was. So on the 29th that same month he was in for a procedure to remove as much of the tumour as possible and get it tested. Just two weeks after this, he was informed that unfortunately the cancer is a rare type (SCC) and not only that but it is stage 3, which meant it’s muscle invasive. Because of this he got the life changing news that he will need to have his bladder removed, as it is the only effective treatment in this case. He is now preparing for major surgery on Monday (29th September) to have his bladder removed. We’re hopeful that he’ll be able to receive a neo-bladder — a complex procedure that could allow him to regain some normal function and independence.
This surgery is just the beginning of a long recovery. Liam will be out of work for 9 to 12 months as he heals, adjusts, and rebuilds his strength. Unfortunately, he isn’t eligible for any financial support or benefits during this time. This has added a huge amount of stress to an already overwhelming situation.
We are asking for help to give Liam some financial stability during this time so he can fully focus on his recovery. Donations will go toward everyday living costs, travel to and from hospital appointments, and anything else that helps make this journey a little more manageable.
Liam is strong, kind, and deeply loved — and we’re doing everything we can to support him through this. Any contribution, no matter how small, means the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would be a huge help too.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.
With love,
Naomi
