On August 16 we received a call stating my mom may have cancer. Two weeks later we learned she has Non-Hodgkin's Aggressive Large B-Cell Lymphoma Stage 3. In a total of three weeks she was on her way to her first chemo treatment. It has been a roller coaster of emotions ever since. She was told she would require a total of 6 chemo treatments. My mom was determined she would work her day care teaching job throughout all 6 treatments. The first two treatments went ok. She was a bit tired here and there, but she was able to manage and continue to work. The third chemo treatment her body had a different idea. This is when she had a 9 day hospital stay in Park Falls and Marshfield with Pneumonia amongst other things. At this time, my hard working mom had come to a realization she may not be able to return to work until treatments were completed and she was free of cancer. Good news is she has learned the chemo is working and the cancer is 95% gone! This is amazing!! The bad news is it has been determined she will not be able to return to work until March 2019. We have to make sure she does not get sick again as this can and will compromise future treatments and could impact the progress that has already been made. My mom, like any other person, needs to work to pay for everyday life expenses and now medical expenses. Please consider supporting my mom with this as she continues to fight and kick cancer to the curb.
