Update
We have had quite a few people asking about updates about Leah. We figured to do it here so it’s all in one place.

We had to take her back to the er on Sunday because she was having a hard time breathing and by Sunday night she got worse and was sent to the icu. She was in excruciating pain. Everywhere hurt and she couldn’t breathe. They found that her heart function worsened to 15% and started to compromise the function of the kidneys and liver… starting multi organ failure.
She is still in the icu. They began a stronger medicine to help her heart beat more efficiently to try to get her kidney and liver numbers back to normal. And the last couple days those numbers have gotten a little bit better.
She has also had a fever so they have been giving antibiotics and treating a possible infection. They are trying to pinpoint what kind of infection if there is one.
She will be in the icu for at least another week, most likely or longer, while they are seeing which medicines are getting the responses they want. And seeing what she can handle without medication.
The team of doctors are still unsure how and why she worsened so quickly.
Long term they have no idea really what or if her heart function will improve.
She may have to be transferred to get further cardiac care.. as in having a cardiac biopsy or mri done.

It’s going to be a long road ahead for our sweet mom. We are so grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. If you would like to help us get more donations raised for Leah it would be so appreciated!

Leah would be horrified we are doing this. But…..Everyone who knows Leah knows she is the hardest worker and strongest person there is. She is the best granny to four boys. She has had a rough decade and has barely been hanging on and it just got worse. She would rather work herself to death then get or ask for any help but she does need a little help right now.

She has never been able get insurance thru work and she can’t afford to pay for private insurance and she dont qualify for any assistance. (Which is ridiculous, she makes very little)She has been feeling honestly deathly ill for a month or so. She was getting these paralyzing breathing attacks where she couldnt get air and she felt like literal death. It scared her everytime. Alongside that she was getting stomach cramps that made her stay in bed for days. At one point her oxygen level was 80% and her temperature was 90 degrees, paired with very low blood pressure. Her body was literally shutting down. After another episode she finally agreed to go to the er.

She’s been in the hospital for 10 days now. Shes has a blood clot from her heart to her lung. Shes had to get numerous tests done. Echo. Multiple Ultrasounds. Ct scans. A dye procedure to see if there was any more blockages(Angiogram procedure) Biopsy on her left lung to check on a nodule. She has dropped down to 80 pounds if that. She was in heart failure when she arrived at the hospital, functioning at 25-30%.. They think she had a cardiac event/heart attack sometime here recently… The drs had to figure out what was causing the heart failure to help treat it.

And now just yesterday she had to be transferred to the icu. Her blood pressure kept dropping to around 50/45. Possibly from bleeding in her lung from the biopsy. More tests and procedures will be given to fix this.

She waited too long to go because she was worried about the cost. There will be the cost of the hospital stay, tests, procedures, medicine, prescriptions, and future visits. Any little bit or share or positive thoughts, energy, or prayers will help and be so appreciated. If anyone knows Leah, you know she deserves the most help anyone can get.
