Laurie experienced a tragic and unexpected incident of domestic violence on Friday, March 28th. This dreadful situation has left her in a significant financial predicament, as she has been hospitalized since the day of the incident. Consequently, she has been unable to work or meet her rent and bill obligations, all while facing other repairs to damaged items (like her vehicle and other property). Many of her items were drenched in blood and had to be thrown away from the incident. At this point, the doctors are uncertain about her recovery timeline. Some of the damages to her brain and body will be permanent but she is trying to regain control of her life and get back on her feet.
This ordeal has taken a profound toll on Laurie—both physically and emotionally—as she deals with the impact on her brain, body, health and spirit. We are committed to helping her maintain her home, her cherished store, and her communication device.
