Help Support Larissa, Warrior of Words
Donation protected
On Wednesday, May 14, my dear friend and sister Larissa Zageris suffered a stroke. Larissa is only 40 years old, and already goes by so many names: sister, daughter, girlfriend, and Auntie Ro-Ro to 2 gorgeous boys. She is a writer, artist, filmmaker, teacher, unicorn enthusiast, ghost hunter, world traveler, and above all else: a fierce advocate and protector of words.
For the stroke to primarily hit her left frontal lobe, where speech production typically occurs, seems too cruel to grapple with. And while we are so incredibly grateful her fine motor skills were not as affected and she continues to improve rapidly every day, she is now facing life with a few new names to add to her repertoire — Survivor and Warrior being the important ones, and Recipient of many, many upcoming bills being the unfortunate other.
We would like to help cushion the financial blow of living in a city like New York while Larissa takes time away from work to rest, recover and heal. Thank you to all friends and family of this amazing woman for your ongoing love and support.
