Just wanted to take a moment let everyone know what happened to our sweet Landon this week. Thursday morning he had a stroke which we went to The medical center's ER and we were then life flighted to Children's in Pittsburgh. We were then placed in the PICU and have had millions of tests done to see what may have caused the stroke. We are still not sure why it happened, although, one of the tests showed a blood clot in his right leg. We are unsure of why the clot is there and are waiting on the blood tests to show maybe why. Some of the tests take a few days some take a few months. All of the tests that have come back show nothing. They believe a part of the clot may have broke off and could have traveled into his heart and out a possible hole and into his brain. Although, all of the heart echoes and tests have not found any holes. The neurologists and The cardiologists have been a big debate to have a scope done to see the part of the heart we can't see through the echo. They don't think it's going to happen now and since it's holiday we are delayed until Tuesday to see anything else happen. The other theory is that he may have a clotting disorder and there are more clots elsewhere but none of have been located. Right now he remains on blood thinners to help prevent another stroke and help dissolve the clot in his leg. He is stable and we just moved into a regular room from the ICU. He has lost good control of his left side so can't walk and use his left arm well but it seems as though he is gaining more control each day. PT and OT are working closely with him to help get him walking again and doing day to day activities. We don't know how long we will be here. At this point it looks like PT will help make a decision if he goes to inpatient rehab or not and if we go home continue him on blood thinners and keep checking him. His vitals are good and he is eating well. He is scared but we keep him entertained! We have appreciated all of the support and prayers from everyone! It means to world to us and Landon! He has loved the video messages and cards! It truly has raised everyone's spirits the support everyone has shown! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! ❤❤❤
