Help Support Lance King's Fight Against Rare T-Cell Leukemia

Donation protected
My name is Tori King, and I am the youngest daughter of Lance King, a loving husband, a devoted father of six, and a beloved grandad of an additional six beautiful grandkids.

I am starting this page in honor of our father, and to keep friends and family members informed as the situation progresses.

In February of 2024, his life changed forever.

Out of nowhere, Lance, the patriarch and provider of our large family, was experiencing trouble breathing, enlarged lymph nodes, lethargy, and body pain. After several visits to hospitals in Edmond and OKC, doctors discovered his lungs were filling with fluid and determined he might have blood cancer.

They sent samples out to specialists at MD Anderson in Houston, who finally diagnosed him with a very rare and extremely aggressive leukemia known as T-Cell Prolymphocytic, or T-PLL.

Doctors recommended he transfer to MD Anderson immediately to begin chemotherapy treatments. The move to Houston was incredibly hard on him because, as a small business owner of a Pedego Electric Bike shop in Edmond, our father had to leave his business, home, and life behind to receive the only care available for his specific cancer.

Finding a stable living situation close to the hospital was nearly impossible. Our parents paid for various hotel rooms, bounced around with nearby family members, and were temporarily placed into a Hope's Lodge.

For several months, my father did his best to run the business from his hospital bed. He had a smile on his face and never lost his optimism while working remotely to answer customer phone calls, pay his bike shop employees, provide for our mom, pay their mortgage and bills in Edmond, and also pay for a living situation and treatment in Houston. However, as his condition worsened, it became more difficult for him to work at all.

Since there is no cure for T-Cell PLL, the only course forward was to try various aggressive chemo treatments and clinical trials. He continues to fight as hard as he can, but the chemo and the cancer are taking their toll on his body.

As the treatments ramped up, so did the adverse effects. Since getting admitted to the hospital full-time, our father has suffered:
- Chemo toxicity
- 4 AFib attacks
- Fluid in lungs
- Blood in lungs
- Lymph node removal
-Growing cancer cells in Bone Marrow

And most recently, doctors discovered he's been silently experiencing dozens of seizures while awake, which has landed him in the ICU for the last three weeks, and led to:
- A recent catatonic state
- Delirium

Our father is now no longer able to do anything independently and requires oxygen and 24-hour care. He has been a rock for us all and has kept faith as he continues to fight for his life.

Our father has always provided for his family and community members in need, putting all of us through school and working several jobs to pay for six college tuitions. He is a caring individual who always gave to charity and served at our local church, Crossings Community Church, and I would like to give the community the chance to help us give back to him.

This GoFundMe is being created to help pay for the mounting medical bills, the exorbitant round-the-clock care, thousands of dollars worth of unavoidable parking fees that patients must pay to park at the hospital. It will also help cover previous expenses made to live near MD Anderson.

Please, our family could use all of the help that we can get. We are asking for any donations that anyone can give, and we are needing as much prayer as possible as we navigate these uncertain days ahead.

Thank you for the constant messages of support and kind words. We read all of them and know we aren't alone in this horrific fight against cancer.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
