Hello, our names are Alex and Alyson, and we are deeply grateful that you’re taking a moment to read our story.

On Sunday, June 22nd, our nephew Kyle experienced an accident at a local swimming pool that resulted in life-altering injuries. Just 18 years old, Kyle had recently graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School and was excited to begin his next chapter at The University of Toledo this fall, where he planned to study Construction Engineering.

Following the accident, Kyle was rushed to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for emergency surgery. After a critical, four-hour operation, he spent over a week in the Intensive Care Unit. He will soon be transferred to Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, where he will work to regain essential motor functions and adapt to a new way of life.

This unexpected tragedy has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on Kyle, his mom Ashley, and our entire family. We are launching this fundraiser to help cover:

• Out-of-pocket medical expenses and rehabilitation costs

• A new home and accessibility modifications

• A down payment on a wheelchair-accessible vehicle

• Any additional equipment or resources Kyle will need for daily living
