The Pidsolomko family, Viktor, Olena and their daughter Kira, arrived in Canada from Cherkassy, UA in June of 2022. A short while later on July 12th, 2022 the Pidsolomko family celebrated the birth of their son and brother Kristian.

Kristian is currently in a medically induced coma, on life support- fighting for his life. His team of doctors have promised to do everything possible to keep little Kristian alive.

This past Sunday, February 9th Kristian became unwell. He had a high fever, low blood oxygen level and general malaise. Kristian’s parents brought him straight to the emergency room at the Atikokan General Hospital where he was stabilized, but in critical condition. The doctor decided to transport Kristian along with his mother Olena by helicopter to TBRHSC. Once in Thunder Bay Kristian continued to receive emergency treatment. His team of doctors in Thunder Bay decided that Kristian need to put into a medically induced coma to let his little body heal.

Kristian’s condition had not changed while in Thunder Bay and his condition remained life-threatening. His doctors called a meeting and decided to transport Kristian and his mother to London Children’s Hospital as this hospital is better equipped to care for critically ill children. While on the way to the airport, Kristian’s condition worsened, and he needed to be resuscitated by paramedics. Fortunately, they were successful, and they were able to fly out of Thunder Bay.

We pray to God for Kristian’s speedy recovery so that he can return to his regular life. Kristian is a very good boy, he is quiet, likes music, dancing and playing with his big sister. His favorite foods are Oreo’s and yogurt. His favorite thing to do is to bathe and play with musical toys.

Unfortunately, there is no prognosis. Kristian is fighting for his life. Viktor and Olena are currently facing every parent’s worst nightmare. We are looking to raise funds so Viktor and Kira can travel to be with Olena and Kristian in London. No family should have to go through such a tough situation while being separated from one another.
