No one should ever have to set their New Year’s resolution to make it out of the hospital. However here we are weeks into 2022 and we are down on our knees praying for Kristen as she fights for her life and baby girl Penelope to come home.
Kristen’s New Year’s Eve started with tears and a rising fever, fighting Covid-19 as much as she could naturally because Penelope was still in the womb. Having endured as much as she could, by 6am January 1st Kristen and Preston had concluded that she wasn’t going to beat this without the help of medical professionals. They didn’t know what was to come as they rushed Kristen to the emergency room. Very quickly things escalated, Kristen’s lungs had filled with fluid and she was officially diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia. An emergency C-section was the only way Kristen could receive the medicine needed to fight her diagnoses. Baby Penelope was born, just 31 weeks old, rushed to the NICU. She is still waiting to meet her mama, but thankfully she is making great progress and is a fighter too. Kristen was intubated prior to delivery to give her lungs a break. Days later when doctors thought she was making progress, they decided to remove her off the ventilator, a severe case of Preeclampsia caused Kristen to have a seizure and doctors resorted to putting her back under, in order for her vitals to stabilize.
Anyone that knows the Miranda family knows Kristen is a super mom/wife/entrepreneur. She has a heart of gold and is the most welcoming soul on earth. We NEED her to recover so she can meet her newest bundle of joy. Her husband, Preston, is doing his absolute best taking on the role of “mom” for their 3 children, Kholton, (10) Khooper, (4) and Prestyn.(3) All while visiting Kristen and Penelope any chance he gets. Meanwhile, medical expenses are racking up as well as the day to day life expenses.
Let’s help the Miranda family through this painful trial, when Kristen recovers and finally gets to hold her new baby girl, let’s make sure she is not worried about the financial burden suddenly placed on her family. Let’s help the children pass the time comfortably as they anxiously await their mother’s return home. And more so, Let’s show them how much support they never knew they had.
Thank you all, God Bless!
