Hi my name is Tanya Widgery, and I am raising funds for my beautiful best friend Kristen Lynch and her family. Kristen has five children, three under the age of 18 and are living at home. Kristen and I have been friends since elementary school. She is one of the most kind hearted, loving, positve people I have ever met. She always looks for the best in people, and tries to remain positive even when others find it hard.

A few days ago, Kristen and her husband were riding a scooter home from the store when they were hit from behind by a car and left unconscious in the road. The impact was devastating.

Kristen suffered a broken right ankle, a fractured pelvis, a brain bleed, a chipped tooth, and severe road rash from head to toe. Her husband’s injuries were even more critical — he coded for six minutes, and doctors are still unsure of what his recovery will look like.

What makes this even harder is that back in October, Kristen was involved in a work accident that left her fighting to keep her left foot. Because her work had no insurance at the time, nothing from that accident was covered, adding a huge financial strain on top of her recovery. She was still healing from that injury when this tragic scooter accident occurred.

Now, with Christmas approaching, the emotional and financial stress on this family is overwhelming. Instead of preparing for the holidays, they are fighting through pain, uncertainty, and an incredibly long road ahead.

-Transportation, home support, and basic living needs
