Hello friends, family, and anyone who offers their time in reading this story!

My aunt, Korin, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday the 27th of August. Korin arrived at the Corvallis Hospital in Oregon and was immediately diagnosed with a stroke. She was then promptly life-flighted from Corvallis to the incredibly talented and thorough Neuro team at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

After arriving, Korin underwent emergency surgery, and through the grace of God and the expertise of the Neuro team, the blood clot in her brain was removed and blood flow was restored. This surgery marked the beginning of Korin's journey of healing. A follow up CT scan after the surgery unfortunately showed that her brain was beginning to swell. Her medical team proceeded to perform a second surgery to remove a portion of Korin's skull to allow her brain the necessary amount of room to relieve pressure from the swelling. That surgery was also a success.

Korin has truly begun her healing journey after undergoing these two surgeries. She remains hospitalized in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit, where she is being closely monitored by her amazing team of doctors and compassionate nurses. Korin is a fighter, and while these crucial early stages of healing may not be visible to the naked eye, Korin continues to show her family and medical team that she is doing everything within her power to return to her loving husband David, and her four children, aged 22, 20, 12, and 10.

My family has always prided ourselves on prioritizing showing God's grace through service to others. When it is time to be on the receiving end of things, it can be very difficult. However, I am asking that if you are able, that you please consider helping Korin and her family in any way that you can. If you are unable to offer a donation, we believe in the power of prayer.

My aunt Korin is an amazing wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend who loves her family and friends fiercely and unconditionally. Her road to recovery will be most likely be long and require blood, sweat, and tears that I know she is prepared and ready to endure. I know that her family are also prepared and ready to be by her side through every step of the way
