Help support Kevin’s family and fight cancer

Kevin Kendell was diagnosed with brain cancer almost 13 years ago. After being diagnosed, Kevin fought back by completing many different treatment options. He wanted to help other people avoid a similar diagnosis so he raised money for cancer research. He did this by participating in an annual 100 km bike ride as part of the Brainiacs team in the Tour de Cure which helps fund the BC Cancer Federation. He worked hard to maximize time with family & friends, especially his two young daughters. This was clearly evident because of all the time he spent as a ‘dance dad’. He could be seen at parades, Halloween performances at Galey Farms and any other location where his beloved daughters were performing.

Apart from his family, Kevin loved his dogs, riding his bike, watching many different sports and a good drink.

After a courageous fight (and greatly exceeding his original prognosis), Kevin was unfortunately out of treatment options. On Dec 4, he chose to take his power back by opting for medically assisted death rather than letting the tumor take everything. He died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Maria, daughter Anneke (13) and daughter Zoe (9).

This is obviously a very tough time for Kevin’s family, especially right before Christmas. There have been many additional costs, lost wages and of course no future income from Kevin. We want to raise money to support Kevin’s family to help them heal and move forward with less worry. Maria has graciously decided to honour Kevin’s memory by donating part of the donated funds to help research cancer.
