Help Support Kerry With Medical And Recovery Funds

Hi, my name is Kerry Ann. I've had Systemic lupus erythematosis since I was 18 years old. I will soon be 57 and Lupus has affected basically all of my organs now. I am currently in kidney failure, which I go in and out of. I'm in congestive heart failure and have 9 stents. I have had triple A cardiac surgery. The list goes on...

I also have three congenital blood disorders and as a result have had two strokes, a pulmonary embolism and clots. One of my blood disorders causes me to bleed out, which I have done during and after some of my surgeries. Because of having lupus, I also have Anti- cardiolipid antibodies and Anti-Phospholipid antibodies as well. My spleen (enlarged) was removed when I was younger because I was diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia and I had a huge hemangioma on it.

Fast forward... in early July 2023, I had surgery for suspicion of Breast Cancer. I, unfortunately bled out and I was rushed back in to surgery hours later to operate on the right breast. I was brought into ICU and within hours the left breast was bleeding and I had surgery the next morning. That was three surgeries in basically two days and I was not doing very well. I battled infections, ostiomylitis, hematomas. After almost two months of being in the hospital, I thought I was finally going home. I was not eligible to go home for wound care. I needed a nurse too often to pack my wound. My wound was measured and was almost 5 inches deep. Painful??? Very!!!!

~ and I'm allergic to opiates, so it was difficult to treat me when woundcare came in.

From the hospital I went to a Nursing Home. That felt like forever...Anyway~ as you can imagine this had a huge impact on me and my family.

When I returned home I realized that my social security Disability was going to the Nursing home. SSD kept saying I was still in there. Ugh... I called them and they kindly said all I needed to do was give them proof of my discharge. Well I did. Mind you... I was discharged in October. This is now March. I need to make an appointment as the repeated phone calls do not work. Everyone contradicts themselves.

In the meantime I've had medical expenses, such as Co payments and living expenses. I have infusions during the week and Doctor visits that are very exhausting.

Before Christmas I had a PETSCAN because my lungs did not look right in the Fall. I had a pleural effusion while in the hospital with some pneumonia. But, this looked different?

I was diagnosed with Emphysema (never smoked) and to be quite honest with you it was devastating to me. Having no spleen...puts me in grave danger. I've had sepsis three times already. It's by Gods Grace that I made it through.

My life has changed dramatically now. Emphysema and cardiovascular disease and all that I have is not good. I was once full of energy and that is no longer.

I need support with the enormous financial expenses that have been associated with my medical conditions/care and hopeful recovery. My light always shines positivity and love! Please pray for improvements.
