Help support Kenny’s son through his recovery

Hello, my name is Kenny Ellis Jr, and I’m reaching out with the most personal request I’ve ever made.

My eldest son has been battling kidney disease for over a decade. I’ve watched him face this journey with a strength and resilience that humbles me every day. Through countless hospital visits, grueling treatments, and moments when the pain and exhaustion were written all over his face—he kept going. He kept showing up. He kept fighting.

As a father, nothing is more painful than seeing your child suffer and feeling powerless to ease their burden. There were times I would have given anything to trade places with him, to carry just a piece of what he was carrying. But no matter how much I wanted to fix it, all I could do was stand beside him—and pray for the day things would get better.

Now, that day is finally within reach.

My son is preparing to undergo a life-saving kidney transplant. This gift of a second chance comes with hope, but also a new set of challenges. His doctors have advised that he’ll need 6 to 8 weeks of recovery after surgery. During that time, he won’t be able to work, and he’ll need to focus entirely on healing—something he’s more than earned after years of simply surviving.

I’m asking for your help so he can rest without the constant fear of how he’ll make ends meet. Your support would cover his basic living expenses—rent, food, transportation to follow-up appointments—while he recovers and regains his strength. It would bring a level of peace and security we haven’t had in a long time.
