Several years ago, our brave Kennedy was diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) — a rare condition affecting the blood vessels in her brain. From the moment we learned of her diagnosis, Kennedy faced every step with strength and grace well beyond her years.
She never wavered, never complained, and never backed down. Over the years, she underwent countless MRIs, multiple angiograms and received targeted radiation to shrink the AVM.
But on Thursday, April 3rd, everything changed. Kennedy was not feeling well and her condition worsened. She was transported by ambulance to Kaiser Santa Clara, where she was taken to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Scans at the ER confirmed our worst fear — Kennedy’s AVM had ruptured, causing a life-threatening brain bleed and dangerous pressure inside her skull. The neurosurgery team acted swiftly, over the next few days doing everything they could to stabilize her.
After initial stabilization at Kaiser, Kennedy was transferred to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford for more streamlined and specialized neurological care. Stanford’s team is now overseeing her treatment and long-term recovery, giving her access to world-class pediatric neurology and neurosurgery experts. This move ensures she is receiving the most advanced support available as she continues to fight.
Kennedy has a long and uncertain road ahead — but she is fierce, brave, and surrounded by an army of love.
I have created this GoFundMe in hopes to relieve a small portion of the challenges that lie ahead. All proceeds from these donations will go to Kennedy’s parents, Brad & Kelly McGee.
If you feel moved to support her journey, your donations will help the family focus entirely on Kennedy’s recovery — covering medical expenses, time away from work, and the many unknowns that lie ahead.
Please keep her in your hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
