Help support Kelly and Rene

On Monday February 5th sometime around 2:30, Kelly and Rene Mentillo were struck by a vehicle that left the scene, when doing a daily walk. This was on their 14th anniversary of their first date. Rene was pronounced dead at the scene. Kelly was life flighted to Memorial Hermann with life threatening injuries. Kelly has been in ICU with critical but stable injuries. Kelly has a long road ahead of her while she recovers. She is currently dealing with a broken ankle, forearm, jaw, clavicle and numerous facial injuries. These are all secondary to the brain bleed she is dealing with.

Kelly will need physical and cognitive therapy. We are raising money to help with all of her medical expenses, as well as the cost of Rene's funeral expenses. Kelly currently is unaware of what happened and will eventually have to deal with losing her wife of ten years. While the physical injuries will improve in the next few months. The rehabilitation will take much longer.
