Help Support Kaylinn Churchill and Her Family
While on vacation at South Padre Island with her daughters and close friends, Kaylinn Churchill’s trip took a tragic turn. She and a friend were riding in a golf cart when they were struck by a drunk driver in a truck.
Kaylinn was pinned beneath the cart and sustained multiple traumatic injuries. She is now in critical condition in a nearby hospital, fighting for her life. She faces an uncertain and difficult road ahead.
No family is ever prepared for something like this. As her loved ones sit by her side, their focus must remain on Kaylinn’s care and recovery—not on the financial strain of medical expenses, travel, and time away from work.
This fundraiser will help ease that burden so her family can be there for her every step of the way. Any amount you can give will make a difference, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is another powerful way to help.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for standing with Kaylinn, her girls, and everyone who loves her.
Update – August 10, 12:30 PM:
Yesterday, Kaylinn underwent surgery to repair her pelvis, along with embolization of both iliac arteries. Doctors also placed an EVD drain to remove excess fluid from her brain, as well as an ICP bolt to monitor intracranial pressure. This morning, they discovered the drain is not functioning as expected, so they are unable to get an exact pressure reading at this time. However, her care team can still gather important information from her vital signs and CT scans.
For now, they are focusing on letting her body rest and giving her the time it needs to begin healing. Her neurologist shared that he has seen miracles happen—and encouraged everyone to keep praying for one. Kaylinn’s family asks that you continue to lift her and her girls up in prayer, keep them in your thoughts, and hold them close in your hearts during this difficult time.
August 11th: Not much to update. They are weaning Kaylinn’s sedation medications to see if she is responding. This is where we need all of the best thoughts and prayers! Keep them coming
Update 8/12:
Today’s update has been difficult to hear. Kaylinn has not been responding since being taken off sedatives, and her sodium levels are currently elevated. Once these stabilize, the doctors plan to perform a perfusion study to measure how much blood is flowing to her brain. This will help her care team—and our family—better understand what the possible outcomes may be.
While the reality of her condition is heavy, we know that miracles do happen, and we are still holding on to that hope. Please continue to pray for one for Kaylinn.
Update 8/15:
Our hearts are heavy as we share that Kaylinn will soon be giving the most selfless gift of all — the gift of life to others through organ donation. In the next day or so, there will be an honor walk at the hospital to celebrate her strength, generosity, and the impact she will have on so many lives.
Her family remains there by her side, surrounding her with love as they prepare for this final act of kindness.
Kaylinn’s legacy will live on not only through the lives she saves, but in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She has always been a light to those around her, and even in this moment, that light shines on.
We are deeply grateful for the continued outpouring of prayers, messages, and support. Your donations have eased some of the overwhelming burdens during this time, and we humbly ask for your continued help as her family faces ongoing travel, medical, and future care expenses for her girls. Every contribution — no matter the size — makes a meaningful difference for this family.
Update 8/17:
Kaylinn’s honor walk will take place this morning at 9 a.m. Surrounded by her loved ones, she will give the greatest gift of all through organ donation. Please keep her and her family in your hearts during this sacred moment.
Update 8/27: Kaylinn’s older sister, Julia Peterson is beginning to prepare a celebration of life in her honor. This will be held near Kaylinn’s home town of Temperance, MI. Further details will be shared as they come. Feel free to continue to support this fund to assist with travel arrangements and hosting the celebration, as well as the ongoing time off work for Kaylinn’s immediate family as they navigate this process.
